Guillaume Colette
Veterinarian · Orthopaedic surgery
I began my veterinary studies in Namur in 2012, before continuing my training at the University of Liège, where I graduated in 2021.
I started my career in Belgium as a rural vet working with cattle. That first experience taught me to work calmly, precisely and pragmatically, sometimes in difficult conditions. I performed numerous caesareans there, in a wide range of situations and settings.
I then joined a veterinary clinic in Luxembourg as an emergency vet, while also working for a few months as a house-call vet. These experiences helped me develop my ability to make quick decisions, manage critical situations, and adapt care to the needs of each animal and its owner.
I later worked for close to a year in Guadeloupe. There I deepened my knowledge of field medicine, in a context where diagnostic and therapeutic resources could be more limited. I also gained particular experience managing complex parasitic conditions and various tropical diseases.
When I returned to Luxembourg, I chose to focus more on surgery and train in orthopaedic surgery. This discipline brings together everything I love about my job : precisely understanding the root of a problem, mastering demanding techniques, and offering concrete solutions that let animals regain their mobility and quality of life.
I am deeply passionate about veterinary medicine and the constant evolution of medical and surgical techniques. I take a particular interest in advances made in human medicine, which help us better understand how the body works and anticipate future developments in veterinary medicine. This curiosity fuels my drive to keep learning, to question my own practices, and to offer my patients care that is as rigorous and modern as possible.
Outside the clinic, I enjoy spending time in the forest, with my dog, or tending to my plants. I also practise wakeboarding, climbing, and pretty much any sport that delivers an adrenaline rush.
